This fully redesigned rehab was an exciting transformation we’re proud to share!

We completed a full renovation of the 1,300 sq ft Detroit Land Bank property, located in the Woodbridge District just outside of Wayne State and Corktown.

What was once an abandoned house went through a partial demo and a custom rebuild, including new plumbing, electrical, insulation & drywall, kitchens, baths, exterior (Roof & siding), and all finishes—bringing it back to life as a warm, modern home a growing family truly loves.

To better support the family’s lifestyle, we also added a 600 sq ft addition featuring a garage, a spacious primary suite, and an extra bathroom, along with a thoughtfully reimagined layout and unique feature upgrades.

This 2024 construction project was incredibly rewarding and highlights our passion for high-quality kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, and home renovations across Michigan that invest in improving our communities.

The Patio Upgrade

This Detroit, MI enclosed patio rebuild transformed an aging structure into a beautiful, code-compliant living space.

Cypress Builds completed a full tear-down, secured all required permits, and passed every city inspection before rebuilding with new framing, roofing, ZIP System® house wrap, large windows and doors, and luxury vinyl plank flooring.

The finished patio delivers lasting durability, modern design, and increased value for our client.

VA Home Repair Grant: Accessible Bathroom Remodel for a Veteran Homeowne

Cypress Builds was proud to complete a bathroom remodel for a military veteran who wanted a safer, more accessible space for him and his mother by replacing the existing bathtub with a seamless walk-in shower entry, glass shower door, and strategically placed safety grab bars.

During demolition, we discovered the previous shower tile lacked proper waterproofing, so we corrected the issue without increasing the homeowner’s budget and installed a properly waterproofed shower system for long-term protection and durability.

We worked closely with him throughout the VA grant process, staying by his side and accommodating his needs and concerns every step of the way.

The Fallen Tree

Insurance Claim

This Detroit, MI, fallen-tree restoration project highlights Cypress Builds' expertise in insurance claim repairs, storm damage restoration, and house construction.

After a storm, the tree severely damaged the side of our client's home and roof; our team worked directly with the homeowner and the insurance adjusters to secure the necessary funding and keep the project moving on schedule. During remediation, we uncovered termite damage and water intrusion that created conditions for potential mold growth, and safely mitigated each issue before rebuilding.

The restoration included structural framing, new roofing and shingles, stucco repair, drywall replacement, interior painting, and extensive finish work to return the home to pre-loss condition—and better. Throughout the project, we maintained clear communication with the homeowner, providing regular updates while delivering high-quality craftsmanship.

By carefully managing the insurance process and construction budget, we completed the Detroit renovation on time, within budget, and with lasting quality, giving our client peace of mind from start to finish.

Home Remodeling in Southfield, Michigan

Bathroom Renovation + Galley Kitchen with pantry and laundry room

This 800 sq ft Southfield, MI home renovation is a perfect example of how Cypress Builds construction helps homeowners turn a fixer-upper into a dream home.

Just outside of Berkley, our client found an outdated house with great potential—and that’s where our expert contractor stepped in. We completed a full bathroom rehab, updating the floor and wall tile, reframing the door, and uncovering (and fixing) rotted bathroom subflooring along the way.

The old, cramped kitchen and storage area were transformed into a clean, whimsical galley-style kitchen with a pantry, a galley laundry space, and we even added a custom mini wine and coffee bar (that was a fun addition)! To tie everything together, we updated lighting fixtures, refreshed the paint, restored the original wood flooring, and tackled her small projects too.

This spring 2026, she'll welcome us back with exterior home improvements, including new windows, new siding, and a garage upgrade, further increasing curb appeal, energy efficiency, and long-term home value—another step in delivering high-quality home remodeling in Oakland county.
