Our story began in 2020 with a single blighted home in Detroit.

​

After acquiring a DLBA property, we took on the challenge of fully renovating it ourselves. What started as a personal project quickly became something much bigger. We fell in love with the process of taking neglected, outdated, or difficult properties and transforming them into beautiful, functional spaces with renewed purpose.

​

Since then, we have fully remodeled three of our own homes, including a fourplex, and have completed renovations on dozens of homes and properties throughout Southeast Michigan, so we truly understand the challenges of rebuilding.

 

Along the way, we have helped families find solutions to some of the most difficult renovation challenges—often finding practical ways forward when reaching the finish line seemed nearly impossible.

Today, Cypress Builds is expanding beyond high-end residential renovations into new development and commercial construction. Our work now includes large-scale projects, including the renovation of 65,000-square-foot warehouse spaces, as well as retail studios, offices, and other specialty spaces.

​

We are licensed, certified, and insured, and we approach every project with the same level of ownership, attention to detail, and accountability that we brought to our very first renovation.

Our roots are firmly planted in Detroit, and our commitment to revitalization has never changed.

We continue to pursue opportunities that allow us to contribute to the revitalization of Detroit and communities throughout Michigan. We partner with larger construction firms, architects and designers, developers, architects, other small Detroit businesses, and organizations pursuing city- and state-funded projects that improve neighborhoods and create better places to live and work.
